About Globetrotters/The Townhouse
Ideally situated just a two-minute walk from the main street in Dublin (O'Connell Street), the hostel building itself is very famous. It’s 200 years old and was once the home of famous poets and playwrights Mr. Dion Boucicault and Lafcadio Hearne (Koizumi Yakumo). We’ve gone to great lengths to restore the buildings and the hostel still maintains the character of years gone by.
We have single, twin, double and triple ‘Townhouse’ rooms available. All rooms have cable TV, telephones and tea/coffee makers. Please note some triple rooms have a double bed and a single bed.
Our specially-designed ‘Globetrotter’ dormitories can accommodate 6, 8, 10 or 12 people. All dorms have en-suite showers and toilets as well as comfortable pine bunk beds which are custom-designed for us. Each bed has a reading light and the bed linen is professionally laundered daily. Continental quilts are also included which have been said to be cosy in winter and refreshingly cool in the summertime.
Our famous full Irish breakfast is included in our price. This includes numerous cereals and homemade breads and spreads, not to mention our cooked breakfast of eggs, beans, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, hash browns and toast. We guarantee you won’t leave hungry.
We open the kitchen to our guests to allow them to cook their own meals between 3pm and 9pm.
There is a free left-luggage facility. Safety deposit boxes are also available for a small charge. The Breakfast Room overlooks a wonderful Japanese garden in which you are also able to enjoy an outdoor picnic should you desire.
Most tourist attractions are within walking distance from here, including Trinity College, the National Art Gallery, museums, etc. The central bus station (‘Busaras’) and Connolly train station are just around the corner from us. As if all of this wasn't enough, the airport bus stops right outside our door!
Please note that children under 16 must be booked into private family rooms and are not permitted in shared accommodation.

Traveller's reviews and ratings
Welcome of the staff, the benefits are at the height: a very good traditional breakfast in a pleasant room (the same as that of the hotel). The decoration is warm and traps under the beds for storing its affairs are large enough to contain a medium suitcase. The House is sleeping is sufficient (space optimized). The household is done every day, room and bathroom. Advisor, so that the centre city is very close.

Disappointed by this hostel...
The home is very good, but the cleanliness is unsatisfactory...
The photos posted on the site, is nothing like the reality.
Fortunately, the petit déjeuné is within the level.
In conclusion, an expensive night for the service provided.

What a fun, friendly place to stay. Lots of amenities (computers, lovely common rooms) and very helpful staff. Will come back any time.
