About Shelter City
Our Christian hostel offers great value for money, with bed, breakfast, sheets, hot showers and a locker for the best prices in Amsterdam. We’ve got clean and comfortable accommodation and friendly international atmosphere. Providing so much for so little, Shelter City is definitely the best deal you can get in Amsterdam.
We’re located in the city centre, a short walk from Central Station. Most of the main tourist attractions are within walking distance.
Shelter City has four-, six-, eight-, 12- and 16-bed single-sex dorms. The larger dorms are divided into smaller sections to provide the privacy you’d like. The four-bed rooms are available with en-suite facilities (private shower, toilet and sink) or with shared bathroom facilities. Our budget price includes breakfast, sheets, hot showers, a locker and all taxes. These are the best-value beds in town.
You will get so much more than just a good night’s sleep at an affordable price. The hostel not only provides excellent facilities, but also has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. All of our international staff speak English and will be pleased to help you. The hostel has a courtyard and a great café where you can get something to eat or drink, relax and meet people from all over the world, or use the Internet.
Our location in the historical Nieuwmarkt area makes it easy to explore Amsterdam. The hostel is close to Central Station, Dam square, small Chinatown and the Red Light district.

Showers sales but rooms ok. Otherwise, the location of the hostel could not be better! In full red-light district, 10 minutes from Rembrandtplein. Wifi access was not top, I was not able to access it from the room, go to the common room. The people were cool.

Are there especially not going. We had reserved a private room with bathroom and toilet. Upon arrival we have paid and c ' is arriving in the House that we have seen that the toilets were not working. It took fight to retrieve what had been pay but it has still not recovered the deposit paid on the internet at time of reservation, whereas it is absolutely not our fault and we left the hostel because they could not give us another Chamber with the services for which we had paid. This is pure malhonneteté and simple, beware!

Are happy with the Shelter city Hostel: excellent location in a lively neighbourhood but the street is quiet. Sympathetic home, dormitory and shower clean and in working condition. We thank the hostel we have been able to leave our luggage in a closed room only-flat: we were 12 then we had a cost of €5 per person: not justified and non-written... to the limit of the "racket".

Hostel very well located in the heart of Amsterdam, step of concerns of exterior noise to this situation, very reassuring home, own common and dining room, terrace cool, much like the number of beds, with my friend we had two beds in a room of 4 beds, and this is a little that we had trouble because we are layer earlyin view of our days, and the problem in the area where we were there was noise until midnight, girls papotaient very hard, and especially the doors are catastrophic they slam, the lockers in the room is not too it, therefore I advice to house 4 beds if you are together or take quies good balls. This is namely! But it was well
